Well, it’s 2016 and everyone needs a blog, right?
It certainly seems that way.
Why I’m doing this.
To put it simply, I want to share my creative journey with you. I’ve always loved art and creating things, and I want to get better. I also have (more recently) discovered my love for business and the process of creating value, and I want to get better at that too. How do I do that? I study, practice, fail…and I share what I’ve learned.
I just recently read two great books by Austin Kleon, called “Steal Like an Artist” and “Show Your Work.”
If you haven’t read them, go read them as soon as possible! (Don’t worry about finding time either – each book can be read in less than 1 hour). I don’t know what it was about these books, but the veil was finally lifted from my eyes and I realized that sharing is not an option. It’s a necessity. To steal Austin’s words,
When you open up your process and invite people in, you learn.
What to expect.
This is my first venture into really opening up and sharing my creative journey, so it could be an interesting ride. But, I will do my best to make it enjoyable for all parties involved!
My goal is to produce quality content that helps you learn, helps me learn, and isn’t a waste of either of our time. Posts will vary from short insights, to in-depth process posts, to book reviews, to quick tip videos, to technical tutorials, to anything else that I think can provide you with real value.
This will be a journey and I’m excited to take it with you.
Let’s get this party started.
